MAHI Leather takes its name from the Mahi River. The coordinates, posted on our badge, 22° N, 72° E, represent the mouth of the river, where it joins the Arabian Sea in Gujarat, India.
For many this is a sacred river and in a country where 103 million people lack safe water its significance is more than symbolic; that’s why MAHI Leather donates $1.50 from the sale of each bag to FRANK Water Projects (Registered Charity No. 1121273), a UK based charity which has helped over 300,000 people gain access to clean water since 2005.
Total donation amount: $14,195*
This is enough to provide 2.35 million people with the necessary materials to test their water quality, hugely reducing their risk of contracting water related diseases.
* Total donated up to January 2018.
